Why choose an IKECA member?

Every IKECA member is committed to providing a complete cleaning of the entire system– from the hood in the kitchen to the fan on the roof. They follow the most complete cleaning and inspection standards in the industry found in NFPA-96, the International Mechanical Code and International Fire Code.

Most other companies simply provide a quick and easy “hood cleaning” service which does not include the duct work or rooftop fan. This may keep the interior of the kitchen looking sharp, but it does little to secure fire safety and reduce health threats. They don’t clean the entire system and aren’t committed to the same high standards as IKECA members.
With 55% of all restaurant fires starting in the kitchen, it is more important than ever to make sure the exhaust is cleaned by properly trained, qualified and certified professionals that are committed to clean to the highest standards in the industry.
IKECA Members live up to the challenge. They are passionate about doing the job right the first time, and providing the restaurant and insurance industries an integral component of their fire protection and public safety programs.

To initiate the process, please submit the following answered questions in full to IKECA Headquarters:
Customer Evaluation for Kitchen Exhaust & Hood Cleaning by IKECA Member Company
Note: Evaluation must relate to Association’s cleaning standards and NFPA 96 specifications.

  1. Have you first discussed your evaluation or observations with the service provider? If yes, please specify the name of the IKECA member company and contact information.
(If you have not discussed your concerns with the IKECA member who provided your service, do not proceed any further with this process until an attempt at resolution has occurred.)
  2. What services were contracted? What was provided against those contracted services (please include pictures whenever possible)?
  3. Was a service report filed by the IKECA member company? If yes, what does it say? Please also include a picture of the hood certificate and cleaning certification.
  4. Who discovered this situation? When?
  5. Who is the inspecting authority that discovered the incomplete job performance and non-alignment with the services contracted?

Only issues related to cleaning to a higher standard and those submissions with fully answered questions will be considered.
